I will learn to LOVE football!

From most of my life I have boycotted football claiming that it is a waste of time. I have pontificated about how there are many more worthwhile things to do with 3 plus hours on the weekend. Just ask my parents and close friends how I would go out of my way to avoid football. This is all beginning to change. I can hardly believe it myself. Why such a shift? Because I am learning to be more accommodating for the sake of my relationship. See, Jayson is a HUGE Gator and Cowboy fan. He has asked me to be willing to joyfully watch each game when they are on. I was not too sure in the beginning. However, anyone in a relationship will tell you that compromise is a key component to the longevity of a relationship. Since I love Jay, I am learning to love football. After all, he shops with me whenever I ask. Who can ask for more?

Great attitude - but it takes 2: he has to be willing to explain the game calmly and supportively and not take it too seriously. I did the same with my wife many years ago and its turned into a weekend ritual for us during the season that we both look forward to. The same can extend to any activity either one of you enjoys - even golf!
